Both of them have used some amazing vocabulary in their WW2 diary recounts and have been making excellent progress with their writing. Hopefully you will be able to read their work on the blog next week when they have finished typing it up.

As we arrived at the railway station…

I know I was going to leave soon so I sadly let go of my mums hand so I could board the giant shiny Hornsby train, It was as sad as a rainy day.

The train crawled out of the station, I sadly waved goodbye to my mum.

I tried to smile at my mum to show I was as brave as a soldier, but I was worried about the people might not like me or I might not like the place I’m at. To take it of my mind I played with my yo-yo. Up and down up and down, soon I got bored and hungry so I got the ham sandwiches out that I brought with me. When I looked out the window all the trees stood to attention.

As we arrived at the railway station…

The huge noisy steam train pulled into the station with a sigh. Some children were very excited but others were crying their eyes out. As we were hustled onto the Mallard I started to cry bitterly as if I had a leak. I began to calm down as slowly as a snail. The wind threw a claw towards a tree and rustled the leaves. The children stepped onto the tracks that the train was lying on. Some children were broken hearted and were crying on their mothers. One child was crying loudly. He stopped. WAIL! What had happened? He’d been stung by a bee. We all stepped onto the train. Not many people had parents with them. All of them were very upset. Where were we going…?

Well done B1.  You have been working so hard with your writing and it is still only the first full week back at school.

Choosing the ‘Writers of the Week’ was really difficult but it had to be done.  Well Done to Michael and Jay F who are this year’s very first Writers of the Week.  Both of them used some really powerful vocabulary in their evacuee descriptions and I was really proud of how much they achieved from the Must, Should and Could.

Keep up the good work everyone!

On the other side of the world where the sun shines brightly all day long and the trees are like candyfloss there lives a man called Mr Bowling Ball he was a very cheerful guy.

Mr Bowling Ball has been invited to a bowling party and was very excited. He couldn’t wait until Saturday – he just couldn’t wait!!!

Mr Bowling Ball was very excited to be there on that day but he wasn’t that glad because every bowling party he got used as a bowling ball. But this time he was bowled by Mr Strong and hit the ground so hard that after that he had to go to the hospital!

Mr Bowling Ball went to the hospital and he had broken his arm and leg and got a crack in his head the doctor said “You better go home and get some rest.”

Mr Bowling Ball went home and got some rest because he was really really tired but he couldn’t get to sleep because of Mr Noisy next door. He was being really noisy by turning the music up full blast! So he went downstairs to get some cookies because cookies help him go to sleep.

So Mr Bowling Ball went down stairs to get some cookies he ate the whole pot of the cookies he went back up stairs and he finally got to sleep

Mr Bowling Ball got to sleep but left the lamp on and got and got an Electricity bill… What a waste of Electricity!!!

Love

Love is as red as a fresh Valentine’s rose.

Love taste like a home made strawberry cake on a special occasion.

Love smells like lavender that has just been made by God.

Love looks like a bright sunny day with children playing merrily outside.

Love sounds like children playing their favourite game with the best of friends.

Love feels like a comfy heart shape bed.

Love is the best thing in the whole wide world.

Watcombe School Memories

Funniest Event

My funniest event was the leaver’s assembly 2007. It was funny because Ellie, Nadine and Louise fell off the stage. It was so funny I couldn’t stop laughing though out the whole assembly! (Ha ha ha) The other funny thing was when TCC came to our school to teach us a dance. It was very funny.

A School Trip

For a school trip we went to Woodlands. It was so fun. I went on the Trauma tower it was very scary. It went right up to the top and zoomed down again. I went on the toboggan as well. I was making it go fast but Miss Stoneman was slowing it down.

Saddest Moment

My saddest moment was when Katie and Mrs Leeson left. We all started to cry because it was so sad. It was definitely the saddest moment. We all still keep in touch with Katie. Miss Leamans blog has got messages for Katie part so we can keep in touch.

Favourite Teacher

I have got two favourite teachers. They are Mrs Squire and Miss Leaman. I like all of the teachers but I like Miss Leaman and Mrs Squire’s best. I like them because they are kind and nice. They do fun things.

Homeroom

The homeroom is great fun. You can cook, play games and even read. You get to play with sand, board games and paint pictures. In the mornings they have breakfast club in there. The homeroom is great fun and a cool place to go. I really enjoy cooking in there.

Favourite Moments

My favourite moment was when I started playing for the football team. It was so exciting-very exciting. My other favourite moment was when I started school because you got to play all day. When my class went to the museum I saw a real mummy wrapped in bandages.
