Dear Children of the World,
I am a Planeteer an I need your help with a difficult mission. Did you know we humans are creating tonnes of waste every year? An example of that is the tonnes of waste we create is buried in UK landfill sites. But, some people are trying to recycle but their message is not getting through. In one hour (yes one hour) we can fill the Albert hall with our waste ( that’s dreadful ABSOLUTELY DREADFUL)!
You might be thinking ” I am small compared to the World.” But you can make a big difference. In this letter I will persuade you to join my ‘ Save the Planet’ Campaign.
Read on to find out about:
* What are waste free lunches;
* What is a good lunchbox;
* What is a bad lunch;
* How to take part.
So, are you ready to help me on our mission…
What is a waste free lunch?
Are you thinking “whats a waste free lunch?” Well it means that you produce less waste in your lunch. It reduces the cost, fantastic, and keeps the world from dying. So are you interested in this? If you are then read on to find out more…
Bad lunchbox
Here is some examples of bad lunch boxes:
* Plastic wrapping;
* Pre packed lunches;
* Cling film;
* Cartons of drinks.
Then the bin men take the waste and drive to the landfill sites and then bury it. After all, these people still don’t recycle their waste. It will start to decompose in 200 hundred years.

A waste free lunch
A waste free lunch generates very little waste, which is good for the enviroment. Here are some examples of this:
* If you put sandwiches in air tight bags you could then wash the bag and use it again;
* You could put crisps in a small container and save some for later;
* Also you could reuse a fruit shoot bottle (but never put lemonade in it because it will go bang and pop);
* You could cut fruit into slices and put them into a small container and have a snack and save some for later.
So it sounds great for the environment, fantastic and great for your pocket.
Take part
In Watcombe and all over the world we are hoping that you we change your habits of creating tonnes of waste. Since this has been happening, we are asking that you join us and take part in the ‘Waste free’ lunch day on the 7th March. If you do take part you will be rewarded with a sticker and a certificate.
In conclusion, can you please help the Planeteers. Help us to reduce waste by taking part in our ‘waste free’ lunch day. Together we can save the planet. The power is in your hands.
Yours hopefully,
Lloyd B1
