A letter from Captain Planet by Aidan

captain_planet_6325547.jpgHi Kids,

My name is Captain Planet. I am writing to save the environment and the planet.

Every year we throw away thousands of materials. We can Recycool all of them.  In this letter you will change your mind and save the world. Read on to find out more….  Join and save the world.

The current Situation

Mobile Phones are made from plastic and metal. You can recycle all of these things. Over 90 million phones are put away and they can be recycled. Nearly every 18 months people change there phone and put the phones they had in draws. What a waste!

How To Help:

You MUST collect as many phones as possible, bring them into school and give them to Miss. Leaman (a super cool teacher). Don’t delay; act today. The planet depends on you and your family. Ask your family and friends for phones. Captain Planet needs your help. The Earth is counting on you…

All the phones which don’t need to be used get sent to Recycool who test the phones to see if they can be used. The ones which can be re-used go to a factory that checks if they are in good condition. The ones what are in good condition go to places where people don’t have phones. The ones what can’t be recycled go to a factory to be taken apart and the parts that can be recycled go to be recycled. The metals, what gets recycled goes to a place and melted then they used the melted metal to make over items car trims, ink cartridges etc.

Raising money

Not only will we help the environment you will also be helping to raise money for a local charity. For every phone we get the cost could be 50p-£50! The amount depends on the make of the phone. The money we raise will go to Rowcroft Hospice our school charity.

In conclusion, please please please become a Planeteer. Show you care for the planet. Remember collect phones and give to Miss Leaman.  Ask your friends, family or neighbours. Help support a local charity by turning your rubbish into money. The power is in your hands. RECYCLE!

Yours hopefully

Captain Planet

I think my work will persuade them to not keep mobile phones in drawers and they will go to Miss. Leaman and give them to her.

I think I did good work today.

I am pleased with my slogans I did and all the words, I put in to make the reader think. I like my punctuation I put in. I like the powerful words.

I need  to improve my full stops and capital letters. I need to improve my punctuation and put in some humour.
